OT - The Investment Thread

Yeah, the MO is fine, but you can basically follow the same plan on your own.

Open up a questrade account and follow the Canadian Couch Potato plans and just pick the 3 main ETFs to invest in and you're good.

WS is about .5% fees, doing it on your own is probably like .15%. But if you don't quite have the patience to do your own investing and keep it balanced, then wealth simple is a pretty solid service.

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I would add quantum computing to the list of extremely interesting technology plays. It's perhaps just starting to come into its own, and the things it might be capable of are mind bottling.

Not much options left for shelter then besides RRSP or LIRA and doubtful you want to go down those roads.

Yeah I have my work based rrsp stuff but I don't and never have gone beyond whatever my employer match level is...free money is free money.

Speaking of free money...

Just booked a one month trip to Japan for 2. All flights and hotels (great hotels, I may add) paid for by points. All from one year of accumulating points.

And I still have about $10,000 worth of points left over. I'll probably sell them at some point this year. If you're not looking to buy a house or something in the next few years, this is a no brainer. Well worth the small temporary credit hit.
