Why should anyone give two shits what RFK Jr. has to say, aside from inheriting a famous name from his dad?

Especially when he’s a passionate member of the “vaccines cause autism” crew, and he’s also been spouting Covid-19 conspiracy theories?
 
I think people should be free to decide whether they give two shits about what he or anyone else says without having speech policed by tech oligarchs.

what is your position regarding moderation on tech platforms? should it be a total free for all, or should all users abide by a shared set of rules?

It depends. Some of these platforms are so large as to have a huge impact on the free exchange of ideas. See the world politics thread and how the fascist Modi gov't is working with youtube to censor mass opposition to his rule.
 
You also have to consider how the big oligarchs can just absorb any platform they want. Instagram, of course, was absorbed by FB and Youtube by Google.
 
yeah obviously Modi shutting down the internet any time there is a protest is problematic.

but I have a hard time getting upset at deplatforming anti-vaxxers, especially given how important widespread vaccine uptake is going to be in helping us overcome the pandemic.

or in other words, there are real, tangible harms to giving anti-vaxxers a platform to spread their lies.
