NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. — Tim Hudak says he's honoured to be given a second chance to lead Ontario's Progressive Conservatives after their humbling election defeat last fall.
Hudak received 78.7 per cent support yesterday from delegates at the party's convention in Niagara Falls.

He vows to put forward a clearer, more positive, conservative alternative to the Liberals -- with a sound plan for creating jobs while also reducing Ontario's massive debt.

Using tax breaks to encourage domestic production is a standard prescription. Yet, ironically, that’s exactly what the Harper government did. In 2008, it offered tax write-offs worth an estimated $5 million annually — not to Electro-Motive (which, at the time, was owned by two hedge funds) but to Canadian railway firms that used locomotives.

The idea was to encourage companies like CN to replace their engine stock more quickly. And if it hadn’t been for globalization, the scheme might have created a few more jobs in London.

But globalization does exist. Canadian railways can still get those tax breaks on new locomotives. It’s just that now they will buy them from Indiana and Mexico.

Two bodyguards, a hairdresser and stylist were believed to have been in the singer's room at the time and discovered her body, with her head under the water, after becoming concerned that she had been in the bathroom for more than an hour.

Prescription drugs, but no illegal drugs, were found in the suite. Houston was known to take Xanax, a drug to ease anxiety which can cause drowsiness, before performances. Anti-anxiety drugs Valium and lorazepam were also believed to have been found.

An autopsy will establish whether the singer fell asleep and drowned, died from an overdose, or from some other cause. Paramedics tried to resuscitate her for 20 minutes but she was pronounced dead at 3.55pm (11.55pm GMT) on Saturday.

On Thursday, two days before her death, witnesses said Houston had displayed erratic behaviour, including doing handstands by the Beverly Hilton Hotel pool, and wandering aimlessly around the lobby.

Later that night she was seen looking dishevelled at a Hollywood nightclub, drinking tequila, and video showed her performing there briefly in a faltering voice. On Friday night she was seen "partying hard" in the hotel bar with friends.

Just finished reading an extensive article about that guy who did the honour killings, reading about that guy being held for blasphemy against Allah, and Whitney Houston being a crack head, and just marvel at the hypocrisy of organized religion.

How people can interpret the Koran, and Islamic law for their own benefit is ridiculous, and Whitney always being one of those "Thank Jesus, and Jesus saved me" yet can't shake drugs and probably has done some very anti Christian things in her life. Yet can easily call out Jesus' name and all is good.
It's all just so much horse shiite.

Smoking marijuana a couple of hours before you drive almost doubles your chances of having a serious car crash, say Canadian researchers.The study led by Associate Professor Mark Asbridge from Dalhousie University in Halifax, is the first to review of data from drivers who had been treated for serious injuries or died in car accidents.

The researchers reviewed nine observational studies with a total sample of 49,411 accident victims. To rule out the effects of alcohol or other drugs the researchers calculated the odds for cases where cannabis — but no alcohol or other drugs — was detected in blood test or the driver had reported smoking three hours before crash.

They found that smoking cannabis three hours before driving nearly doubled a driver's risk of having a motor vehicle accident.

It's not meant to be disrespectful of her. It's just not the manner in which I expected her to die. Most people addicted to drugs or booze or both die from that. (Winehouse). Crack cocaine especially. But it appears it might be possible that in this case, Houston simply took too many prescription relaxants and fell asleep in the tub. Unexpected.
 
Its a tragic loss for the music world, and I hope Whitney is at peace now because really she never led a peaceful life, it was filled with drugs/substance abuse and domestic violence over the past several decades. She truly was a great singer, one of the bettter ones this generation has offered up, much better then the likes of "Nikki Minaj" "Rihanna", "Kesha" etc.

But thats just it she apparantly did die from overdosing on presciption pills in the bathtub, that is dying from drugs. Wasn't Winehouse sober at the time of her death?

Dont forget the media trying to exploit her death and prolong the coverage of it just to make a profit, people in the media industry are beyond scum IMO.
 
And the hits just keep coming for the Houston clan, apparantly Whitney's daughter Bobbie was rushed to the hospital after collapsing due to the shock of learning about her Mom's death. She's in fair condition being treated for stress.
 
Just for accuracies sake. Whitney wasn't a crack whore. See, that would suggest that she was a crack addict who had sex for money with the express purpose of funding her crack habit.

She was simply a crackhead or more literally, a crack addict.
