OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

I don't understand the McCaw love, and I absolutely don't understand him and Serge on the floor at the same time.

I think it's hurting us, and making what's really good about this line (everyone is a legit threat that makes you space) less good. When Serge is on the floor, you can 100% sag off of him, know that he's going to shoot any shot that is even sort of open looking and cheat to rotate over on the better offensive players on the floor.

Worse, it's taken guys like Davis, Boucher, and RHJ right out of the flow they were in. I know that Nurse wanted to feature flexible lineups all year (and if you're going to trade them, you've gotta feature them) but hopefully this ends soon.

What are y'all's opinion of Blake Griffin. He seems to be a pretty good player to me. But I don't know bball like you guys. Its mostly entertainment for me.

Not what he used to be, but a legitimately good starting PF. A mid tier star, but not a superstar.

This McCaw guy, how is he getting any playing time? Again, don't know too much, but guy doesn't look like he should be in the league to me.

It's a complete mystery to me Teeds. McCaw is fine as a back of the bench guard, but a guy getting ~20 minutes a night and playing real minutes in the 4th quarter? I don't get it. He defends relatively well...that's about it. But I don't think he's a better defensive guard than Davis.

I hoping that this is just us showcasing him while Fred is out. Norm goes back to the bench (into McCaw's current role) when Fred is back, which the way things look now, would push McCaw into TD's role...which is nuts, TD is a lot better than McCaw, but Nurse isn't using him like it right now.

Well...that would appear to take care of that issue.

Norm looks like he's done something to his non shooting arm shoulder.

that injury to norm might be a blessing tbh. nurse was falling in love with him too much.

we need gasol tho.

Yeah, he's about the play the shit out of quick trigger Serge. There is not a shot on the court that guy won't take.

Here's what chokes me about Serge:

FG% by distance

Corner 3 - .375
Any other 3 - .310
16ft-3pt - .385
10-16 - .500
3-10 - .385
0-3 - .658

Should never shoot a wing 3 again. But can legit murder that little 15-16 foot elbow jumper off the screen and pop. Also obviously a great finisher when get can get to, or around the rim, but it looks like when he either gets stopped in the lane, or gets post opportunities (which is not often), he's turrible.

The guy is super limited offensively and the ball just finds him in too many places he makes chronically bad decisions in.

Even that elbow jumper takes so much of the clock up trying to set up that it pisses me off. There's no other option by the end of the play but to fire that long 2, which is still an inefficient shot, and what's worse is that he's the only rebounder on the court so we never recover it if he misses.
