OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Sign me up for the next version of RJ and Quickley as a return for Siakam.
I guess Wiggins could be a version of RJ, but a less good one.

Im not sure there is an obvious situation where a player with such good nerdies has this much difficulty getting on the court

Haliburton out for 2+ weeks with a hammy strain.

With how bad they are defensively, missing him is likely to be ugly. It's important because we're "only" 6 games back of Indy, Orlando, Cleveland, Miami, & Knicks all at 21-15 for the 4-8 seeds in the east. 1 game back of Brooklyn and 2 games back of Chicago is looking pretty likely for us to pass within the next 2-3 weeks, but it would be nice to see the weaker teams in that group (Indy is 12th in ntrg, Miami 16th, Orlando 11th) run into some struggles that can maybe help us get into the chase for a playoff spot instead of a play in spot.

Fwiw, the Raptors have a +5.3 net rating since the trade and if that was extrapolated out (it obviously doesn't work like this, too small of a sample, but still interesting) to be the season net rating, that would put the Raptors 4th in the NBA. So they've been pretty, pretty good since the trade (not including the short handed Detroit game...)

No jak may really hurt us for a few weeks. We already struggle at times rebounding.

Also don’t seem to be much help available. This is where it would be nice if Koloko was available. Jontay about to get some more minutes.

He's a free agent at the end of the year, and could come back to the Raps if they wanted, no?

Theoretically.

But we don't have the cap for that. The Knicks are going to bust their nut to sign him, or Philly is going to do all the cap gymnastics necessary to add him to Embiid-Maxey while putting a decent squard around them.

I think Philly is going after Siakam. All this talk of him not resigning with a team that trades for him. Would really piss me off to lose him to the Sixers.

I can't see them going max on him. They want floor spacers from everything I've heard. Embiid a big, and Maxey a slasher, Pascal probably clogs up the paint for them too much. It's OG they've had a huge hard on for allegedly.
