OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Seriously though, the only thing the positionless philosophy is better at imo is that it blurs the lines between 2-3-4 a bit. I'd agree that those jobs were probably too specialized in the past and if you have 3 guys who were 6'7-6'9 who can all handle the ball, shoot, defend, and rebound, you're probably a pretty fucking good team.

But point guards, and centres matter imo. Always have, and always will. Can interesting skill sets exist within those archetypes? Of course but you need the roles covered. You need someone who can initiate the offence and in the modern game someone who can do that while being able to save possessions with late clock shooting off the dribble. You also need someone who can rebound and defend the rim, but again in the modern game that guy needs to be able to defend out to the 3pt line on the P/R and at the other end act as a screen and roll guy who can finish downhill. Also is nice if they can hit an open 3 of course.
 
can't believe nobody has mentioned the biggest loser of the trade yet. Won't somebody think of the corporations?
