Freds option has to be picked up for him to be traded. They can't use the AAV to match salaries and then decline the option after the trade. so if Milwaukee wants to pay Fred 43 million next year, sure

I prefer getting Giannis and building around him than going with what we have right now. If he wants to be here a trade makes sense with Masai coveting him for years. But, as mentioned, if we’re bidding against the Nets it’ll be difficult.

That's nowhere near enough to get it done imo even if he wants to come here. Giannis doesn't have any trade protection, and even though he prefers the east, he wants to win. A lot easier to see titles in OKC or even SAS with Wemby than with us, and both of those teams have way more assets to give up for him without touching their core.
