He's not quite a Furry and not quite a MurphyAlright, I was wrong. Essengue's career is already over.
There's no coming back from getting dunked on like that by what I assume by his last name is someone who is at least 50% Leprechaun.
As long as they stay healthy, he's right.
Just to piggy back on my rankings from the other day, here's their starting 5's and my projected BPM (just the sum of a rough avg of what each player does when healthy) of their starting 5's (24/25 EPM in brackets)
Cavs: Spider, Mobley, Allen, Garland, Hunter
Proj BPM: +15.5 (12.1 EPM)
Magic: Wagner, Paolo, Bane, Suggs, WCJ
Proj BPM: +11 (10.3 EPM)
Knicks: Brunson, KAT, OG, Mikal, Hart
Proj BPM: +10.5 (8.0 EPM)
Bucks: Giannis, Turner, KPJ, GTJ, Anthony
Proj BPM: +9.5 (4.8 EPM)
Pistons: Cade, Duren, Tobias, Robinson, Ausar
Proj BPM: +9 (3.3 EPM)
Heat: Bam, Herro, Norm, Wiggins, Ware
Proj BPM: +6.5 (4.2 EPM)
Raptors: Scottie, Ingram, Jake, IQ, RJ
Proj BPM: +8.5 (5.0 EPM)
Hawks: Trae, Tingus, JJ, NAW, Daniels
Proj BPM: +9 (Heavily dependent on Tingus staying healthy, which won't happen with his condition, +5-6 without Tingus)
(5.4 EPM w Tingers, 3.7 w/o)
So yeah, our starting lineup is definitely in line with teams who are competing for the 4-5-6 spots just based on everyone putting in more or less a typical effort by their standards. The question with the Raptors is can they all play together and can they stay healthy. The collection of talent is definitely competing for a playoff spot though.
And fwiw the big 3 of Cle, Orl and NYK i think are worse than OKC, DEN by a fair bit and maybe not LAC, MIN, GSW
A healthy Jo is as realistic as the Pirates keeping SkenesAlso, Paul George had knee surgery today. So yeah, unless Embiid comes back at full strength Philly is fucked.
Stevens is going to tank this year and reload via draft and tradesA few honourable mention teams that I passed over, but it's good to see them for comparison. It's not like the Raptors have earned looking past anyone really.
Pacers: Siakam, Nesmith, Nemhard, McConnell, Huff
Proj BPM: +3 (4.5 EPM)
Kind of expect them to play a lot of small ball with Mathurin instead of Huff, and their bench to get slaughtered badly.
Celtics: Brown, White, Pritchard, Hauser, Queta
Proj BPM: +7 (6.0 EPM)
Massive house of cards here with Boston probably more interested in playing Simons to get value for him (Pritchard is an analytics darling rotation guard), and Brown to spend his sweet ass time rehabbing from that surgery. Their bench is an epic wasteland with guys like Luke Garza set to get real minutes for them. Slow roll Brown's rehab, or an injury to White and this falls off the planet quickly.
Dick should start packing his bags and his Gillette razorMoar hot takes
- CMB isn't ready for NBA minutes.
- Castleton is a bum
- Mogbo and Shead are limited but good at what they are. I don't know how good off the bench they're going to be, but they're not going to embarrass themselves in a full time NBA role.
- If Gradey doesn't show improvement, Ja'Kobe is going to push him out of the SG situation by December.
