OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Bru, the #6/7 seeded teams in the east will feel hell in these East playoffs.

They will face one of the Celtics/knicks in round 1, then they face one of the Celtics/knicks in round 2. The way the nba playoff bracket is set up for the first two rounds (1-8 vs 4-5 and 2-3 vs 6-7)

And if they somehow survive through the first rounds, they meet the pistons in the ECF. Then if they even Find a way to advance to the final, they probably face the spurs or the thunder.

It would be Toughest and hardest playoff path to the chip since maybe in 1995 with the rockets or 2011 with the mavericks. 2019 raptors road to the chip was tough( sixers in round 2, top seed bucks in the ecf and defending champions dynasty GSW in the final) but we faced an easy opponent the Orlando magic in round 1 and overwhelmed them in 5 games. Gentleman’s sweep 4-1

By comparison the raps will face the Cavs and if they win they meet Detroit Next round . Still a tough path for us but nowhere close as tough as the road for the 6/7 seeded teams.

Detroit is beatable in the 2nd round. A butter soft schedule down the stretch covered up wonky play. 8-7 against .500+ teams over the last 6 weeks.

Better than us, and would be the obvious favourites, but not your usual 60 win team type of inevitability either. Cleveland-Detroit is a better path then Knicks-Celtics for sure.

And unlike the Knicks or the Celtics, the pistons are a young and inexperienced team. They are less gritty, relentless, physical and defensive sound than Than the Knicks and they don’t have the shooters and depth/bench strength the celtics have right now. The celts bench/farm club literally Beat a full strength Magic team last night.

And cade cunningham wont be playing at full strength despite being back on the court after missing a month. Hes still recovering from his collapsed lung injury.

All these three teams have good head coaches though

great stuff from the raps. They probably lose rd 1 and maybe badly but we’ve seen the blueprint of what sustained playoff appearances can do, and we even know what is needed to level this team up. In the mean time, Barnes, cmb, shead, hopefully quick all getting playoff reps is gonna be good for us.

Also raises the values of anyone we're looking to trade if they're coming off of a decent or better playoff performance.

Ingram actually posted better numbers against the Knicks than the Cavs which surprised me. But I think the knicks played mostly single coverage on him and were able to basically shutdown everyone else. The Cavs needed to send help more often which opened things up.
