If the suspend Kawhi do you still do the trade? That should eliminate some of the compensation sent their way. Say if he gets suspended for 50 games, but the draft picks get eliminated from the deal. If he gets suspended for the year I think you bow out of the deal. And obviously no trade if his deal gets voided.

This is pretty little league stuff all around. Everyone should’ve known whether this deal was possible before announcing it.
 
On the bright side, any properly negative outcome would require the NBA punishing a hyper billionare. Which national governments seems to struggle with, so I don't expect a sports league that Ballmer is worth more than the combined might of plus all of their owners, to be willing to do anything to hold one of the hyper wealthy accountable.
 
So 20 games of forced load management saves us 6-7 million of cap, which gets us 6+ million under the luxury tax, which allows us to sign Demar, and another vet minimum. I wonder if Thybulle wants to ring chase?

I wouldnt get too cute though, Raps need this deal almost as much as the Clipps, who could in theory hold him past any suspension and hold him til the deadline. I dont think the Raps want to start the season with Grady and Ingram

What excites me more about a potential extension is a tax break that gives us flexibility under the hard cap of the apron
