OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

So, after the Lebron signing here is the up to date CBPM rankings of the top teams in the east:

Celtics: 19.9
Cavs: 13.9
Raptors: 12.9
Knicks: 11.7
Sixers: 10.6
Magic: 9.6
Pistons: 8.8 (This doesn't include Duren, who knows what is going on there)
Heat: 8.6
Pacers: 6.9
Hawks: 4.5
 
Not surprised but it speaks to the janky lineups they're going to be running out there imo.

C - Embiid/Barlow
PF - Wade
SF - Brown/Edgecomb
SG - Maxey/KCP/Simons
PG - Lebron

They're going to be running small, small ass lineups that can't defend a lick a whole fucking lot. Embiid should be minute capped at like 26-27 minutes a night on average (lol's in Nick Nurse) and Lebron turns 42 mid season, he also needs a shit ton of load management to get through a season.

Fwiw, they're announcing this but I don't see it sticking very long. They just have too many competent options at the 2-3, Maxey plays the 1/Lead Guard well but they need a PoA defender with him against a lot of matchups.
 
There is at least mild scuttle that GSW striking out everywhere and being a play in team at best could lead to a Steph trade, and we are mentioned as a suitor.

Probably a deadline thing if ever but man.

Most people assume the deal goes through.

Oddsmakers wont believe any different.

Raps are disrespected constantly by US oddsmakers, cause Canada, and big markets like LAL, MIA and now PHI with Lebron are going to be set at inflated numbers
 
The bookies suggesting that the Raptors are going to go from 11th in the NBA in wins, to 13th after adding Kawhi Leonard for Brandon Ingram is definitely one of the choices all of time.

The team's only real weakness that kept it from being a solid tier higher last year was that our half court offence sucked. It sucked at least partially due to our high volume batman being a bad Batman that didn't create gravity and was an okay but just okay shot maker from an efficiency standpoint. Well, we replaced that guy 1 for 1 with maybe the best half court offence Batman in the NBA and they're projecting us to get worst relative to the league, and at best even in total wins.

Not surprised.
