OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

The only thing I'm going to say about all of this stuff coming out, is to be careful not to let a gang of people who clearly knew nothing, convince you that they know shit now.

Uncle Dennis talking about leaving in back hall "melees" (whatever the **** that means) and someone has been sitting on this for weeks?

This would have leaked wayyy earlier if true. IMO

Bruce Arthur is pretty credible. Kawhi can say “in the moment” all he wants. But there’s no way he wasn’t thinking about what happens next. He’s a young baller, not a Buddhist monk.

Lots of folks (outside of the Lakers org) don’t leak. That’s why we almost always find about things after the fact.

By the way, how was that even remotely a fair ask? How much better is George than Siakam going forward, not to mention plus all those picks and Fred?

And why would Kawhi even demand it? Did he need George to win in TO? Obviously not.

Again supports the conclusion that he only wanted to go to LAC. Face****s the Lakers because he had nothing better to do last week.

George might have been the best player in bball this season..

Actually he's not really credible at all. Certainly not as an insider.

He is a good Twitter follow tho.

I do get the sense that he wasn't really interested in coming back to Toronto, and dead set on LA all along. Which was his right as a free agent. But probably means Lakers were behind door # 2.

Like I said before, I ain't mad at all. But certainly not impressed by his apparent pondering of the decision for a few days, when all he was really doing was buying time for the Paul George trade. Reminds me a little bit of that phony-ass bullshit tour Bosh and Wade made visiting a few teams as UFA's while knowing they were going to the Heat all along.

It sucks for us. But it is also fair to say the injury could be a bullet dodged, and that trade is probably going to haunt the Clippers down the road.

I was just gonna say this exact thing. Arthur is no insider forsure. He's fun to watch argue the alt-right on Twitter though. His take downs of Jordan Peterson are pretty awesome.

Regardless, he didn’t need him to win it all. Wouldn’t need him next season either if he stayed with us.

But he never planned to stay with us.

Why are you shocked about this? For the last 3 years Kawhi has talked about playing at home and he was super pissed when he got traded to Toronto. Sure, he probably had fun during his 10 months here, but the writing was always pretty clear.

Masia is the true hero here. He took the risk of bringing in a guy that was always likely to bolt and it paid off.big time.

The pictures say that Kawhi is the hero, and I love him for that -- but the real hero is Masia.

It makes the most sense really. They're all at peak value right now, and finishing 5th in the east should never be the goal. We can strip down, send our veterans to good places for them to chase another ring, and go with a young rotation that should still challenge for a playoff spot. Starting PG Fred, and 1st option Pascal could easily be a 13-14 WARP duo.

Would be nice to acquire some first round picks after not having one the last couple years.

Can FVV be a full time PG on a contending team?
