OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Is the injury severity on Tatum public?

Cause if he dead the Pacers might be faves in the East, no?

Blew his achilles, surgery. Boston is cooked this year and I'd imagine next year as well. They'll probably take the opportunity to do a hard reset. Brad Stevens is very smrt. I imagine that he shops Jrue and Kristaps in the summer.

Im going to wager winner of OKC/DEN takes the LOB

I dont think Minny stops either, and the East just isnt as good IMO

Started watching some highlights. I like Jakucionis game. He looks like a solid bet to be a good player. Maybe not a star. Reports are saying he’s a negative defender but I like his size as a shot creating guard.

I don't think he's a negative defender overall imo. The defensive issue is that he's too big and slow to guard PG's and a bit too small to guard big athletic wings. But as long as you have a POA defender you're fine. Like, he's get hunted on switches in the NBA depending on the matchup but it shouldn't be too bad. He's really good at defending away from the ball though. Smart in passing lanes, smart with rotations. High IQ, moderate tools.

I'm warming to him as well again. He was considered a consensus top 5-7 pick before the forearm injury fucked up his shooting stroke. Dude was shooting 40% before the arm injury and then shot 24% after the arm injury. He might be a steal if the injury was nothing. One of the youngest freshman in this class as well.

I don’t think we have enough trade bait to land the Freak

People on the SAS reddit are like "I don't really want to give up Harper, Castle, Vassell and all of the 1sts for him" that is the functioning rumour over there.

Which would be more than us giving up Scottie + RJ + 9th + all the 1sts.

Fwiw, the reporters out of Milwaukee are basically threatening to stab anyone who says anything other than that the Bucks are keeping him 100% and that all of this noise has no basis in reality.

Sounds like the Spurs want to keep the 2nd overall pick and draft Harper. That might take a team out of the Giannis sweepstakes. #Giannis2The6ix

Spurs can grow into a contender with all their young players now

Freak pushes them into immediate win now mode and your giving up draft capital and young assets in your system

Plus you got 2 years before he possibly fucks off and is 33

They may not need to make a deal , their Batman and Robin maybe on this roster soon

This is more of an OKC move for me , they have so much draft capital that they can pivot easier with SGA and Freak

OKC also has only one more year of cheap Chet so Presti would probably be pretty willing to include him before Chet's getting his big extension. Durability would obviously be an issue (it's an issue with Giannis tbf), but Chet could easily, easily be a 25/10 type guy with elite rim protection.

Milwaukee could get a haul from OKC and OKC would still be left with a deeep contender level rotation.

Bingo , I dont see any downside to making this deal even if the Freak fucks off in 2 years
