OT: The Syrian Refugee Thread

Please tell me that you don't want to take our queues on foreign policy from Saudi Arabia.

That's not answering the real question on why they don't want them or why there's virtually no pressure for them to, considering they are basically neighbors.

One day, a bilingual son of a Syrian refugee will centre the Habs number one line to a Stanley Cip. That day Xposbrad will shed a tear. Until then, he'll be our forumice Grinch.

Would you make the same argument if the refuges were Jews or White Christian Europeans?

When the Jews came here, they didn't have all these handouts, you know that right? Trudeau and the liberals for some reason have focused on Syria. Not on the 3m+ children under 5 who die annually from hunger, but the syrians. Not on the 1m+ that are currently displaced in Nepal either. One has to question Turdeau's real motive here. There are people all over the world who need help, we aren't sending planes there and bringing them back here.

More like complain that the Syrian Canadian is getting preferential treatment from the coach

With that logic, you would never help anyone. Because it would be unfair to those you didn't help.

Saudi Arabia helps fund ISIS... they're not going to take in people who are fleeing.

And honestly... who gives a shit what Saudi Arabia does? It has no more to do with what we should do than the fact that Jordan, Norway or Sweden ect are taking in more than us should matter.

LOL

That's nice, but in the grand scheme of things 50,000 refugees is a joke. Tiny Sweden has taken in nearly 200,000. Tiny Jordan is taken in over a million. Germany has taken in over a million.

We can do more - i'm not saying take in THAT MANY, but people complaining about 25,000-50,000 is embarrassing.
