OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Seventy-five games into his major league career, Bichette, who just turned 23 this month, has already compiled 44 extra-base hits -- just 10 fewer than the record for a player's first 75 games, set by Joe DiMaggio.

I have no real qualms with how the roster is constructed. Kirk was obvious. Mayza earned it, and im a fan of Johnathan Davis, especially with banged up Springer, Teo still an OF, and no PR on the bench.

What i dont get is....TJ Zeuch? this guy is 4A fodder, and controlled, and it cost us Francisco Liriano. Ray might miss 2 starts, just use an opener. If a RP blows an arm, were looking at a Castro or something.

Zeuch is probably starting in the rotation (such as it is). He’s as likely as anyone to give them 4-5 decent innings. Since they have no rotation they need guys that can go multiple innings. It makes sense.

Castro has had a great spring. 8.1IP, 4H, 1BB, 15K.

And Orelvis Martinez is going to be really good. I don’t think he’ll stick at SS, but damn, he has huge, easy power. Good plate discipline too. My guess is that he’s a top 50 prospect by year end.

Yeah, Zeuch's quality of opposition this spring was 7.6, which is right between AA and AAA quality. Higher than Trent Thornton, who also makes the team.

Some sad news for all the fans of rough and tumble crybaby baseball out there, Roughned Odor did not make the Rangers and so will probably be released. $27.7 million left on his deal.

That sucks.

Hopefully Grichuk has a hot start. He’s certainly capable of a great month, but he can’t sustain it.
