Hard not to love this team. There are obviously some guys we can stand to upgrade, but the big boys are doing great (miss Vladdy's lost power tho), the Starger kid is amazing, the role players all step up, the pitching has been strong. Get a couple of big names at the deadline and really make it fun. How amazing would it be to be better than the Dodgers after their joke of a monopoly money spend?

Dhroan, Coloumbe and Bader for something not named Yesavage would solve a bunch in one trade. Pen would be unreal and a bench/OF bat
Dont need bats or overpay for any pitching unless they are better than anything we have
Rentals and depth players give up limited resources

what upgrade is there when Varsho and Sant is back ?
Teams is loaded with depth bats , go big or fuck it .
Its like the Leafs giving up a first for Laughton , just say no .

Santander is done let’s face it and Varsho should be back soon. I think bullpen is the main focus and another starter if possible. Look at that KC team in 2015, their bullpen was unreal. You need a light out pen in playoffs

Good article today about how even more important than talent is to bring in good character guys who will add to the existing chemistry. Bassitt in particular quoted as saying that if you're a shitty person, he doesn't care how good you are, you shouldn't be on the team. He apparently felt that it happened with the Mets at one deadline and cautioned that adding one shitty guy will infect a few other guys and will take them all down. We kinda all knew this already, but for some reason, the way it was laid out resonating with me.
