OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Obviously it depends what is offered and in a sellers market i suspect you get a good return on all three, but i would not be opposed to hanging onto any of Varsho, Gausman, or Bieber and giving them a QO.
how does this QO work for pending UFA`s

Do you get a compensatory pick if they decline and sign elsewhere ?

You offer them a 1 year deal at something like 23m. If they accept, you get that. If they decline, you get a pick back once they sign elsewhere. Although since the Jays are over the CBT mark, and not a revenue sharing recipient, the pick they get back is only after the 4th round. So frankly, if you can trade them now and get anything back, that's probably better value than worrying about the qualifying offer.

They pulled Sandoval at 4.2 innings and 84 pitches without giving up a run and ahead 3-0. Tying run was coming to the plate, but Sandoval was pissed, and deservedly so. If there's one aspect of baseball that's turned to shit, it's the frequency of this kind of stuff and zero attention anymore to letting a starter qualify for the win, or protect his own lead later in games, or stick around to see if his team will tie or take the lead. Naturally, they don't do themselves favors by nearing 100 pitches in the 4th or 5th, but still.
