That first missed "impactful" call is the one that I was talking about here.

Instead of a strikeout to end the inning, a run scored and his pitch count went up unnecessarily.

Kinda fatal in a one run loss. But I sort of blame Kirk too - he needs to be aware that there are two strikes there and a close pitch being strike three is way more important (and way less risky) than trying to catch the runner attempting to steal second when there's a guy on third too. But he jumped up after catching it to make the throw and the ump understandably missed it. That was the whole game right there on that one play.
 
MLB games from prior (and current) years are going to look so stupid in rewatches once ABS takes over.

One of those, "I can't believe this sport used to be played that way" kind of things.
 
Smith up to a 96wrc+ on the year now, not far off the 101 and 113 of his last two years.....with plenty of upward regression available on his .262babip still.
 
He should play everyday vs RHP, and we are well past the need for Jesus Sanchez, who i think is probably sacraficed for Santander if her returns
 
The mythical Healthy Santander would be a god send right now. With the added benefit of being able to actually trade him if he comes back and hits.

Ross has had quite a fantastic off seas and mid season, and this isnt really including the Soriano/Hoffman/Varsho deals, which i think are both good, and he also got some good waiver/minor value in Corbin/Sewald/Mantiply
