OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

No way i'd want to give swisher that much for that long. Interesting suggestion though, the jays could've used him this year. Still would love to sign Greinke plus fill either 1B or LF (i could roll the dice on lind with a great addition in LF, EE to DH) with a high-end upgrade. Probably one more starter, too.

Need a new 2B, i've seen enough of Kelly Johnson. Hech is a possibility, although I can definitely see them moving Yunel. We can probably get by with Hechavarria at SS as long as there are upgrades elsewhere.

Then there's CF. Can't count on Gose so I guess Rasmus will probably return, but man was he ever underwhelming.

By the way, AA was on with McCown today, he said yes when asked whether he expected Farrell to be back as things stand today, I expected him to hem and haw a bit more.

The Lind era is over. He is nothing but a platoon, bench bat now. If we are counting on him to have some sort of rebound...Again, team is doomed.

Escobar has no value, so let's hope for a rebound to then dump him.

i think this is worth mentioning: great year from morrow. if that is what we can expect moving forward then a huge hole is filled.

he still has to prove he can pitch 200 innings -- but that his injury this year was not particualrly concerning (i.e. elbow or shoulder) makes me optimistic. as does the fact that he didn't really skip a beat after returning.

Throw most of the available funds at starting pitching, no ifs, whens or buts. LF is the second priority - with Rasmus there we cannot field another weak hitter along with him. Bautista will obviously help, but LF needs to be improved.

After that it will likely get tight when it comes to resources for the Jays.

Sure a more consitent DH would be nice, but Lind may have bought himself one last chance with his very solid second half of this season. I think I saw a stat showing that his OPS was over .900 the last 30 games. An improved bench would be nice. No more Visquel's please. Those type's of players are completely useless

I dont think it matters whether we improve LF or 1B, need a better stick at either position.

EE should be the DH regardless

this is likely an unpopular opinion, but given the fact that Alex missed the boat on adding major pieces last off season (likes of whom are simply not available this year), the fact that he went into the season with a team that could not handle even one major history, the fact that he has a mess of a clubhouse, given the fact that he basically killed Snider's value, the fact that his prize trade for Rasmus has not panned out, the fact that we have many more questions now that we had last off season, etc. I don't think AA should have a job this morning. At least not as the GM of the Toronto Blue Jays.

No way you fire him now, but at least the honeymoon is clearly over, and next season is a big, big test for him.

You forgot to cite Bleacher Report in your quotation.

Just getting rid of Vernon's contract should net AA everyone's gratitude for at least the next two years.
