His D is elite and his stick is passable vs RHP, and he costs 20M, he's going to come back

But I'm leaning towards they should find a way to dump him next year.

It's really quite simple with Gimenez:

2022: 6.1 WAR
2023: 3.8 WAR
2024: 2.8 WAR
AVG: 4.23 WAR

Let's give extra weight to 2024 and cut that down to the 3-3.8 range.

1 WAR is currently considered to be worth somewhere between $8m and $11m, depending on who you ask. Just go with the lower end for both numbers - 8x3=24 He's fine at $20m.

Elite D + speed, 1 elite season with a 141 wRC+ and 96 the year after, dipped last year but they thought he could rebound with the stick after some tweaks. He started out great, was solid before getting hurt this last time, and really bad in between. But the season has been too disjointed with the injuries to know for sure. He is guaranteed to be back, and he's still a good player just providing elite d and batting 9th.

Plus he's SS-insurance in the future in case Bo leaves and we don't find a better option - can hold down the fort for a couple of years until Nimmala is ready.
