OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Saw the video of Manoah pitching. How is this guy still fat? Like bro, your career is hanging on by a thread.

I don’t have any hope for him returning to what he was.

Hopefully at least 1 of Manoah, Yesavage, Tiedeman can make an impact for us.
Thats baseball especially with young pitchers

One day your heading towards elite and then one pitch away from being a washed up Manoah

What a fucking half inning there. First and second nobody out. They try to bunt, but go 0-2, yet the next one is a wild pitch so the runners advance anyway. Little then strikes out the batter, so everyone is even steven, as if the sac bunt was successful. Then he strikes out the next guy too. And then Dominguez comes in to strike out Kelly. A totally meaningless game, but my heart was pounding, wanting them to escape it and keep Max in line for the win. That was fucking awesome.

I still think Manoah was ruined by the pitch clock. He was the slowest pitcher in baseball, and likely needed that 30s to recover betwen pitches because of his fitness level. Troubling if he hasn’t used all the time off to get into shape.

Vladdy could hit 60HR if he wanted. That wasn’t even a good swing and he hit it off the end of the bat.

Don’t care though, he’s a beast and this is now another .300/.400/.500 season.

Short answer, he’s trying to hit line drives instead of fly balls. And he hits the ball up the middle more often than he pulls it, which is somewhat unusual for a power hitter.

Check out statcast data of you want more detail on his results. The one year Vladdy hit significantly more fly balls and pulled the ball more often was 2021 so maybe it makes sense for him to go back to that but also fuck it he’s amazing.

It's part of what makes baseball great....you can have these little moments in the middle of the season and they can feel as special as anything you'll see that year until they next thing happens.
