OT: What are you Watching/Listening/Drinking?

Been to California a ton, pretty fantastic fresh produce but not Italy level tomatoes, IMO, at least not absolutely everywhere. Just my experience though.

Definitely one of the fun parts of travelling is discovering what certain foods are supposed to taste like in the right conditions.

I'll never forget being in Kenya and biting into a chunk of honeydew melon, and being completely surprised by the max flavour.

California and most of the Mediterranean delivers the goods. IF Ontario enjoys one of those hot, sunny summers (hasn't happened in a while), you can get reasonably close.
I read that the nuclear accident in Japan a few years ago has eventually contaminated the soil in California and trace amount of nuclear waste can be found in wine and other produce grown in California.

Lonestar's not the wild west though.

Never really thought of Wolves as a western but yeah I guess it is.

But yeah the remakes of Yuma and True Grit are both realgud.

Assassination of Jesse James was interesting too.

Not a real western imo but one of the best movies ever.

The voiceover and the music. Damn. So good.

What's everyone planting in their gardens this summer? And what's your setup? I'm feeling tremendous pressure this summer to step my green thumb game up.

standards
tons of potatoes, and peas

then some onions, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers

I haven't gone all the way back to see but assume you guys are talking about movie westerns. I recall the Netflix miniseries Godless being pretty great though, best western I've seen in a while

If anyone's planning on trying out any Serious Eats recipes during quarantine, I just tried this one:

And it was fucking heavenly. Not sure how Italian purists would feel about using miso and soy sauce but holy crap, the umami.
