OT: World Politics

Committed. 🙄

"Well, I think they are sort of a nuclear power,” the president said. “I mean, I know how many weapons they have. I know everything about them and I’ve had a very good relationship with Kim Jong Un.”

Trump, 79, Bizarrely Claims World Leader Has No Phone

what I don't get is if the rule of law is no longer in place, why are they (the people) still following the law?

Because authority. The government has a monopoly on legal violence. "The rule of law" is the pact between the people and the government regarding how the government uses it. The rule of law eroding just means that "our" ability to seek redress for the misuse of government power/violence goes away, not that the government's ability to use it goes away.

Nope. That only mattered when they thought they could use it against the libz

They're pro child sexual abuse now.

The “Epstein Files” are the second-term version of the Mueller investigation/Mueller report.

A Macguffin that plenty of overly-optimistic Libs imagine can become the silver bullet that takes down Trump and finally causes his support to melt away. When in reality, it poses no danger to Trump whatsoever.

Even if the Epstein files were released in full and provided damning, incontrovertible evidence that Trump personally was Epstein’s right-hand man when it came to procuring, raping and trafficking unfathomable numbers of children, what do people realistically think will be the outcome of that?

Because I’m 100% sure that 99-100% of elected Republicans would stick their fingers in their ears and ignore it or refuse to respond to it while still supporting Trump as their absolute monarch. And his fan club would have one of three reactions:

A) It’s all fake news. Trump is innocent!

B) Actually, raping children is good and let me explain to you the historical and biblical reasons why…

C) Sure, Trump might’ve raped some children, but I bet the Dems rape more! And Trump’s child raping is outweighed by all the good he’s doing as Our President.

If anything, the use of it increases as the risk of legal retaliation for using it is lessened.

Just to address it quickly...liberals dislike Israel's current politics, not jews as a people...no, not the same thing. If Israel and Palestine signed a 2 state deal tomorrow, liberals attitudes towards Israel would start to navigate back to a better place. No, liberals and arabs/persians/etc are not natural political allies, they're not remotely aligned politically aside from this one issue.

Right wingers though? They hate jews. They're the "jews control everything" conspiracy theory people.

also, the "far right" is fully embraced by the current gop while the far left wouldn't even give harris their votes.
