Keep this in mind when Ukraine gets close to reclaiming Crimea and the usual suspects come out of the woodwork talking about how Crimeans want to be Russian, the 2014 referendum, etc.

Not to mention that since the Russian annexation of Crimea, I’d guess that there’s been a significant influx of Russian nationals. Along with an exodus (some by force and some by choice) of original inhabitants who weren’t amenable to living under Russian rule.

we're back at a point in the conflict where I'm really hoping we're super close to another collapse in the Russian lines. some encouraging signs but don't want to get my hopes too far up. but man, the Ukrainians have just so consistently made such smart decisions, they've earned some faith.

anyone know what's happening with the Turkish election right now?

best I can gather Erdogan has a small lead and they are heading to a runoff, but seems like a lot of conflicting information out there...

Unless Kılıçdaroglu has an "unfortunate accident" before that second round.

Nah, Erdogan just wanted to make it look like it was close so that it's not too suspicious. He'll win the runoff with a slightly better margin, "proving" that he was popular all along and totally not running a rigged election.
