US arms industry exported 318 billion worth of gear last year. Juiced by the Ukraine war of course. But just US sales to military contractors for export was 200B last year. An epic amount of soft power destruction with that industry evaporating as well. It makes their own weapons development programs cheaper, it subsidizes the research that keeps them on the cutting edge. The knock on effects of the rest of the wealthy western world walking away from them is immense and impossible to fully appreciate until we see it's impacts play out over the course of decades.

Banks, pension funds, anything really that needs inputs from outside USA, insurance (already a few natural disasters away from needing serious help), construction companies, etc etc
They can’t print enough money to save everything. Even worse after they change the tax laws and lose even more money coming into the gov’t.
Also; they are losing all their cheap labour. Most things produced in the USA will now naturally cost more and make it less competitive even with tariffs going on.
It’s a fucken mess - amazing stuff to watch tho from a learning perspective of what can go wrong.

But I don't think it's enough to save Russia. Europe has woken up, and Ukraine's internal defence industry has learned enough to keep them in the fight until Russia implodes.
