My Pollyanna-ish wishful thinking:

Regime is empty shell and will fall, to be replaced by a younger, liberalizing leadership.

Sanctions will go, but Iran will align itself with the EU. Total, ENI and Airbus will get juicy contracts but definitely not Boeing and BP (especially BP!). Trump’s negotiations will be irrelevant.

Bibi and MBS left somewhat uncomfortable because the chief bogeyman is gone.
