OT: World Politics

lol...c'mon

If it's not illegal, which it wasn't, change the laws. They're allowed to do it, not because they have some sort of special muslim permission, but that because anyone is allowed to do it. Demonstrations, protests, etc, are all allowed to do what they did in Toronto and has been done many, many, many times. Pro Israel groups have been afforded the same legal provision many times themselves, in Toronto and other places.

Again, just like everyone else is allowed to do. There are public noise bylaws in every city in the western world. As long as they abide by them, I don't see the problem. Your Minneapolis example, for instance, was about them applying to the city to have the bylaws amended to allow for prayer call outside of existing noise bylaw times and after public consultation, there was no opposition to it so they allowed it. Again, I'm not seeing the problem.

lol, I've been hearing this same line for 20+ years mate and they're still ~2%. Calm down, touch grass.

No, there isn't. You're just online too much and in the wrong places. Touch grass, you'll see quite clearly that the algo has you, that's all.
Since when is anyone allowed to just block off a street for a religious undertaking? You need to get permits to do such a thing, and can't just organize a group to block of Yonge Street for 15 minutes or whatever whenever you feel like it every day. And again, the regular blasting over the loudspeakers is very different than some car randomly driving past you with its windows down playing music.

You're allowed to block off the street for any undertaking. It's literally protected speech in the charter. The same reason a bunch of muppets were allowed to shut down a chunk of Ottawa a few years ago and only got persuaded to move because the traffic tickets were piling up.

You're 100% incorrect.

You're missing the point. Cities manage noise ordinance. As long as the mosques are operating within those noise ordinances, that's how a society works. It's ~3 minutes, 5x per day. ~15 minutes of public noise, played at levels allowed by bylaw, not "blasting" them.

How is this different than church bells?

Church bells aren't prayers. If you said what's the difference between church bells and music from a car, I'd say those are similar. They're not actually prayers being forced on your ears several times a day.

Are you saying that blocking off the streets without a permit is permitted in Canada? Because it's definitely not allowed here without a permit.

Weird subject for me because I don't like any of you weird sky god having motherfuckers.

The idea that I'm supposed to tolerate some of yall but not all of yall is fucked up. If we're making arguments to shut one down, fuck it, I want you all shut down. Everyone's silly religions are allowed or no ones.

But I vote for all of you to be able to do whatever silly bullshit you want until it infringes on me doing whatever silly bullshit I put value in.

Everyone's silly religion should be allowed - in the privacy of wherever it is being done, to not be shoved into the faces of people who do not subscribe to that religion, to prevent them from having their peace, to get in the way of them living their lives. Especially if that particular religion has a large enough faction that vocalizes plans to take over cities, impose their values over western ideals, denounce and drive out other religions, and even supersede secular laws with religious laws.

You can put blinders on for only so long. This is growing and very fast becoming a big problem.

Yup. As a former Christian and current atheist, I think it's all quite silly. And no one's religion is really any sillier than anyone else's, so acting like calls to prayer is going to tear down Western society seems like quite the leap. And LOF adding the whole "I have Muslim friends", is the exact same energy people have when they say something racist then defend it by saying "My best friend is black".
