US hegemony is over. They’ve unequivocally shown who they are. The best we can hope for is that the rest of the decline is gradual and led by generally competent people.
Dotard’s economic threats are meaningless now. Yes, he can hurt us, but every new action he takes, (economic or military) hurts the US even more. Unfortunately, the US population is stupid, arrogant, and gullible so he will continue to have support to do foolish things. Things are definitely going to get worse. Also the next several administrations will need scapegoats and undoubtedly we’ll be back in the crosshairs. It is going to be a bumpy ride. We need patience, resilience, and competent, respected leadership.
And on that note, while it’s fun to laugh at the Conservative Party right now, for the good of the country they need to ditch Poilievre and elect a serious person to lead the official opposition. I don’t see any real candidates — it might take another Reform/Alliance/PC style split before someone with actual credentials is interested in going anywhere meant that mess.
