OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

Notice how neither of the two women fighters had a down the pipe right hand. Jeez, their coaches suck.

If George Foreman, had ever developed a down the piple, straight right hand. We wouldn't even talk about Muhammad Ali.

Bad coaching, just a sloppy, ugly fight. Garbage.

Shit coaching. Shit technique and goddamn, Holly Holms is fugly.

We’ve chatted about this before in the thread. Prob take a decade to get a pipeline of fighters now that it’s a career path for woman.

Not surprising the crowd is booing them, lame ass fight.

yeah, I haven't changed my opinion. I don't see it. It hasn't really improved since we had that discussion.

Muhammad Ali, best straight, down the pipe, right hand of all time. Hardest punch to coordinate, but its what you have to have to deal with this crazy game. Both women, have zero right hand ability. Was crazy awful to watch.

It hasn’t been a decade yet lol, hasn’t been a year hah

It's probably been about a year and that year has generated one premier women's fighter (Zhang) and lost one (Cyborg). If you want to hang your hat on the group of female prospects on their way up (Ladd, Lipski, Barber, etc) who are having a hard time handling the journeywomen currently in their divisions...well okay.

Ufc wants Connor to win this one bad - if he loses - not really sure where his career goes from here

Depends on how he loses. If Cowboy drags him to the ground and strangles him, Dana puts him and Masvidal in a cage this summer and makes another pile of money on the strength of it being a pure stand up scrap. Masvidal isn't about that hug life shit.

Cerrone is 4-7 in his last 11, with 5 of those being KO/TKO stoppages, and a few of them pretty nasty. His only really decent ranked win of those 4 was Iaquinta.

I was really pulling for him to leave his gloves in the ring before we end up reading about him pulling a Chris Benoit in 10 years because of fucking rampant CTE.

Dude needs an intervention. You have your gym, you've made your money, you have a brand you can continue to earn off of. Fucking hang it up.

Steve Stavros's nephew said it best. Teeder, floyidanleaf, if you believe any of this is real, I wasted a couple of hours hanging around with you.

Totally fixed.

Garbage, And Fred Andersen has lost his confidence.

Not a good Toronto night.

Horrible fights tonight. UFC is hanging on the balance. It WWE all the way. And its garbage that Jorge Masvidal keeps talking about payday

They better re invent themselves, tonight sucked worse than Fred Andersen.

Awful hockey game. awful fights.

Terrible weather as well.

And its garbage that Jorge Masvidal keeps talking about payday

Why? These guys are prize fighters. Nobody gives a shit about boxers talking pay day. Shit, the most successful boxer of the modern era (maybe ever) shaped his entire image (a re shaping, at that) around his paydays.

Dude literally started by beating people up in backyards, and was some dodgy decisions away from title contention years ago, there's nothing wrong with him taking this notoriety he's earned this year and focusing on using it to get paid. Chase 7 figure paydays that will feed your family for the rest of your life, or chase a strap that the UFC treats as little more than a marketing tool anyway. The choice is easy.

Dude,I know a fixed night when I see it. You're very smart, but if you didn't see a bag job tonight? Foof.

Knocking a champ out with a shoulder? Really? Seriously? Dude, that is stranger than seeing Dion Phaneuf, hanging with Shanahan.

Worst night of UFC ever.

Garbage.

Decade...like need 12 year olds to see this and then choose to make a career of it :)

Thinking more like Carter with is effect on Canadian basketball...wasn’t a one year turnaround. Took some time...Zhang, as an example, could do that for China/Asia.
