31 GMs in the league, 30 if you count out MB, he only needs one to be stupid.

I would rather take 36 mil at 31 to take me to retirement , than gamble I dont have another shit year or get hurt this season .

I think Tavares a 1C was the only player last year to get 7 years .

You have no idea if that is what was offered or not.

You also have a history of wanting any deal offered.

If Tom Wilson can get over 5 million, then Max is worth at least 7

If you are talented and more successful than the norm, they will do everything to make sure you don't keep succeeding (instead of embracing it).

This is 2018. Players have power....unlike the 60-70's.....you would think Bergy understands this, coming from Blackhawks.

I am sure it was reported at the draft it was a 6x6 deal and 67 wouldn`t commit to extend.

Tommy boy is 24 and had a playoff run pretty boy can only dream he ever had . A cup = bonus pay for players , you know that .

I can see TW`s career start taking off this year and be a legit 20-25 goal SOB who brings grit , toughness and some skill to the rink

like Lucic did for years and he is a much better skater .

Maybe if Max had more clout in the league we could finally get the deal we keep waiting for.
 
It might have been a good one, but there is no guarantee that actually was the offer, nor that he was offered 6 x 6. The information regarding that alleged trade is all over the place. Walsh says there was one, Robitaille says there wasn't. I never recalled seeing 6 x 6 but even if offered, why take that when Wilson who is shit just got 5.2.

Evander Kane got 7x7 last year and Max is a much better player.

At least Kane accepted a trade to try to help his contract status , and got a good one .

Both players played for shit shows and needed a change of scenery .

Max could of played with Kopitar , Carter , and Doughty and be that secondary support piece which is all he is .

Now he maybe stuck on a team that wants him gone til the deadline and put up with the media crap all season long
 
True, but to geeman's argument... he knew what LA was offering. It's not like he could have gone there and played well to earn a bigger contract ala Evander Kane. The offer was the offer... there was no "accepting a trade to help his contract status."
