We’ll have to see on the walking wounded, but having depth doesn’t mean a heck of a lot if you never have to use it. The Canes have guys in reserve who can actually play. Meanwhile, what dumbass said something about Carolina being used to playing with 5 defensemen? Oh, it was me. Nice. Still, they didn’t miss a beat putting the pairings in the blender, really.

That game was a mess, but I think it was always going to be that way given how much Ottawa was leaning on the “were were robbed” card between games. They got about what they deserved on the scoreboard. They never really did figure out that they needed to take better care of the puck and extend offensive zone shifts. If I’m Steve Staios, I’m starting the off season with a coaching search.
