Playoff GDT: Stanley Cup Final Game 2 Canes v. Vegas 6/4 8:00

For those of you at home, has Messier become more annoying than PK Stupid? ESPN has always been pretty awful at hockey but you gotta be able to do better than those two for the Finals…Messier struggles to even remember player names on both teams half the time…
He and Subban are downright nauseating. Oscar the Grouch should go back to his trash can. Or a Hilton Head. Whichever is closest.

So basically we're saying between black(white) lung disease, hearing loss, and stress from close games, attending Canes playoff games is quite hazardous to your health.
i mean… I watched this from 400 miles away, and I was not OK. This stuff is definitely hazardous to your health.

And don’t forget that scorched ass too where your wallet sits…🤣🤣🤣. I kid, I kid…not really though!!!

My ears rang longer after 2006 Game 7 finals than after any concert I ever went to.
There may come a point where they don’t stop ringing… ever… like mine. A permanent reminder of playoffs past. I highly recommend wearing ear plugs before that happens. The volume is quite literally hazardous to your health.

I can assure you that the 20 years that have passed since we last did this have taken a toll on my ability to roll through the Finals. It takes so long to wind down enough to go to sleep that I’m VERY grateful that I’m mostly retired and can shift stuff around

I started wearing ear protection during playoff games a few years back but I started to just wear plugs for every game this past season and it’s made a huge difference.

Ah, the joy of tinnitus!
Mine started at 19 on the night my knee was bent the wrong way at the stage at a 999 show in the Cameron Village Underground and all I could go was hobble off to the side of the stage and hold myself up on the Marshalls to finish off my beer.

I've had tinnitus since my early teens. Spent a lot of time in hearing test booths and doctors offices growing up, but never any results or effective treatment, I just try to sleep with fan or other white noise, and Canes games don't help for sure. I'm trying to do better about the earplugs in recent years but not enough.

What?!
My high frequency hearing is totally {Polar's word)ed, but I can hear the low frequency of diesel engines running and turkeys drumming better than anyone else I know. When one door closes, another window opens...or something like that.

Too much Rock N Roll (if that's really possible?) and discharging tens of thousands of rounds from various calibers of firearms (unprotected) wrecked my hearing decades ago. At 21, I smoked the ASVAB tests to get into the military, but hearing loss prevented me from getting into my field of choice, so I pursued other options.

Probably The Who, Rush, and Dickey Betts & Great Southern were the loudest concerts I've ever attended. It took days for hearing to return and my body to stop vibrating.

A traumatic brain injury didn't help a damn thing, either.

Carolina Hurricanes Playoff Hockey is up there too, though in a good kinda way.

For the most part, I probably don't want to hear what most people are saying.

Jim

I’ve found that earplugs at concerts unfortunately muffle the PA sound but also do a very good job at muting boneheads that won’t stop chattering through the whole show.

I've been wearing earplugs at concerts for decades. But overall, I've been rough on my hearing over the years. I have BAD tinnitus. I wouldn't dare go to a Canes game without them now. Not only can I not afford to make it worse, I just hate the loud sound now.
