A serious contender could snag Dubois on the cheap knowing full well he’s gone in 2 years. And the Jets can stick it to Dubois and the Habs.

How is that sticking it to the Habs?

Dubois has made it known that he will not sign an extension with anyone but us. So any other team which acquires him does so with the full knowledge that he's a rental. As such they aren't going to offer the Jets very much and when PLD becomes a UFA he's a Hab the same day. Whether we get him this summer or when his contract expires is immaterial. We are going to suck next season either way so it has no bearing on anything. The only thing the Jets have to consider is are they going to get something in return for PLD or are they going to lose him for nothing.

I love the Pitlick move. Showed me exactly what I needed to know. They no doubt told his agent they won't qualify, go out and get offers, we'll give you 2 x $1.1m per.

Plus we're now the young up and coming team that younger players will gravitate to and that's new.

I was sick and tired of the excuses with Nero .... everything is hard to do or get

Hugo made more positive moves in 3 -6 months that Nero didnt do for a near decade .

Every move is a rational hockey decision in the best interest of the team , not the player or media .

They nailed the trade deadline and the draft so far looks promising .

There is a plan in place to get younger , faster with a long term vision .

I am convinced Hugo wouldnt of fucked up the contracts of Price/Gally/Armia /Alzner/ etc...

They would not of went all in with Weber IMO and patched ever since .

Weren’t you going on & on about why signing Kreider to an extension was a terrible idea because NYR were “rebuilding”?

HuGo would’ve signed Price, I agree not Gallagher and definitely not Alzner

It's great to agree with moves made but I just can't stamp anything positive or great until they actually are, we've seen too much crap happen over the past 30 years to bite at the first lure.

Very promising. Jury still out on nailed for me. Slafkovsky looks dynamic but we won't know if the right decision was made for awhile to come.

how much $$$ is PLD looking for ? Heard they are looking for 7.5-8M...

For a center that's 24, and his best seasons were 60 pts, while playing with a great top 6 in Winnipeg (Connor, Scheifele, Wheeler, Ehlers).....that's not worth 8M on a long term contract. And PLD was sheltered behind Scheifele...

We are already seeing fans give us the Drouin excuses: he's still young, he hasn't hit his potential yet, he just needs a new start in another city...

Just like Drouin, if you cannot perform with great players in Tampa, why would we expect better with Habs....same goes for PLD....he's 24 and will soon be on his 3rd team.

Now if Jets will take Dvorak type players, then sure, trade for him.....but don't trade draft picks for PLD

Krieder is a totally different contract and team outlook

Dude is built like a fucken tank and was going to age much better than Price

A unicorn , only a handful of players can do what he does at 230 pounds

Overpaid by about 2 mil but complements their skill to perfection

Rangers attract few agents and dont have the issues the Habs have

Kreider can play a top 6 role , 31 is done

Hugo has way more control and power than Nero had , 31 wasn`t getting this albatross deal IMO
