Fairly straight forward question and a way to get some discussion going...

Where do you think the Habs finish in the league this season?

I think they'll finish around 25th in the league, giving them the 7th overall pick.

To me, Anaheim, San Jose & Chicago are the depth of hockey incompetency and would be very surprised if they weren't in the basement all year. Flyers & Columbus are both pretty awful as well. I don't believe in Nashville or Vancouver much either. Might see the Jets hovering around where we are as well.

Last in Atlantic, obviously, and bottom 4-7 overall. They still suck . . . thankfully (need another high pick . . . that they can again waste/blow).

I think we finish just outside of the top 10, have another irrelevant pick and continue our path to mediocrity.

I see

Arizona
Anaheim
Chicago
SJ
Philly
CBJ

all potentially worse which puts us 26th.

I think without 685 man games lost they will tick up a spot so 25th.

Even at a full healthy squad, which never happens, the Habs aren't a bubble team.

I don't see this as a reason to worry.

I hope it does. Missing Bedard sucked but we need more. That much is apparent. They just have to stop picking for need like the last two drafts. Reinbacher and Linebacker on skates the past two years.

Just a Montembeault injury or reverting to what he was prior to last season.

For his sake, on a personal level, I hope he has a great season and we can trade him for a draft pick in February, before he signs a long-term deal somewhere else. He's a great story.

He's trending in the right direction.
