PWHL team names and logos

Don't like ottawa's at all.

Toronto's name doesn't sound great but i guess the meaning kinda works. And i love that logo tbh.

The other 4 are good.

Montreal's is great all around.

yeah...the Montreal one stands out as a finished product

the others seem like early drafts

Toronto Torch sounds better to me
 
yeah like wtf is up with that Boston logo. like it was designed for a different team nickname, then they just decided to roll with fleet...
 
Torch is soooooo much better, but like they couldn't have come up with the Huskies?
 
Sentinels and Tempests are better than any of these 6 names. Lumieres is pretty good for Montreal though Victoire works well enough I suppose.

Yeah, Torch would have been vastly superior. Some potential for a classic Big T logo with fire elements added to it. Picking gold without a supporting colour is bad design imo. It's the absolute hardest colour to keep consistent across different mediums, printed on different materials by different manufacturers, and comes off looking just like yellow when by itself.

Here's an example of a team doing "gold" well

Notice there's no actual gold in there, their designer knows that it's a shit colour to work with in any format it can't be shiny.
 
For everyone else:

- Yeah, Montreal did well all around. Good name selection, great logo.
- Ottawa Alert could have been dope, they bottled this harder than the Toronto group did
- Boston did well, and future iterations of that Fleet logo will improve on a good core idea. The Whalers logo being repurposed gives a strong nod to the new england hockey heritage and matches the naval theme of the team name.
- I saw NY Sound mentioned as a name for the New York team...kind of prefer that to Sirens, though I get the double meaning that designers tend to fucking love. Don't love the execution at all though, but another one where the quality will probably catch up to the concept in future iterations.
- Frost is boring but apt, will end up an okay logo after a re work or two but never classic.
