Only 500K less, and they didn’t buy a single year of UFA.
only way it backfires is if Nick plateaus at the 50 point range ....not happeningIt's a smaller gamble. As long as he keeps performing like he did in the second half, it won't be an issue and might evolve into a bargain. I don't hate it, i think it can be a good deal on both sides, but he's being paid like a ppg player.
Heck of a player, never scored at a point per game clip yet. I'm sure he will... but he has yet to do it.Pettersson just signed for less than that. (Yes I know the length is different)
I'm not that literal. He's a 0.93ppg career player. And had a 0.97ppg season 2 years ago. He's in that category.Heck of a player, never scored at a point per game clip yet. I'm sure he will... but he has yet to do it.
And yeah, not buying any UFA years allowed the Nucks to get him cheap.
Oh, well sure then. It's easy to be right when you don't have to literally be right.I'm not that literal. He's a 0.93ppg career player. And had a 0.97ppg season 2 years ago. He's in that category.
Doesn't matter anyway. The Canucks lead the league in rake stepping and they've wasted the careers of better players than Petterson before.Oh, well sure then. It's easy to be right when you don't have to literally be right.
Either way, the only reason EP signed that "cheap" was that he didn't sell any UFA years. He would have got 9m+ on an 8 year deal.

Mostly the deals aren't apples to apples...Sorry if I don't think that a difference of 2 points over a season changes the nature of my argument. But otherwise i agree.
