The Big One: Blue Jackets vs Flyers - Tuesday April 15th 7pm EDT

Players love to be spoilers by beating teams that have something to play for. They don't roll over to screw over another team.

It makes sense that Washington, who was set and had nothing to play for would be easy for Columbus... But Philly... They're going to want to win.
Philly is also set and have nothing to play for. Their desire to put Columbus out of the playoffs should be about as high as it was for the Caps, no?

Chicago had nothing to play for n'est ce pas?
Sure, but neither did the Caps. So the effort a team expends in a nothing game is not consistent from one team to another and nothing should be assumed. Philly might try hard like Chicago did last night, or they might do what the Caps did on the weekend. It's anyone's guess.

But one thing we know for an absolute certainty is that the Blue Jackets won't be taking any nights off. They won't just lose; they will need to be beaten.

The one good thing about eliminated teams, as we saw with Chicago, it's that they don't sit anyone. These are their last games to play.

The guys need to discipline themselves when crowd starts singing. There was some unwarranted self-adulation and hubris last night.
They went into a pond hockey open game with a team that had nothing to lose. It made zero sense. It's not like Chicago doesn't have young talent and young talent can easily play pond hockey. Make them play a defensive structured game and watch them mess that up.

Coaching.

Did MSL call a time out at any point last night?

Rogers package is so beyond useless living in Toronto. They never show Habs games, and usually crap games like Philly vs. CBJ. The one time I actually want to watch those 2 craps teams, it's not on

MSL’s coaching inexperience definitely showed last night.
