The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

That shift in the pairings is exactly what I've wanted to see. Holl bumped and Dermott promoted. Great stuff. The pairings desperately needed tweaking and this looks good. Hope they give them time to click.
 
Huge opportunities for Dermott and Liljegren. Dermott has shown he's well adapting to sitting back with a partner that flies up the ice. The pairing with Rielly could develop great chemistry.
 
I love it. Accountability starts with the coaching staff. Players go through differing levels of form, that's normal. Coaching staff needs to identify it and deploy accordingly. Giving a few games to sort their shit out is fine but after that, put them in a position to find their game against easier competition and build back.

Now the question is whether they'll give real auditions here. Putting Dermott into the top 4 for one game and then slotting Holl back in immediately does nothing. Same as air dropping Lilly in for one game. Does nothing. Give Holl a week of practices, film study and rest to find himself and go from there.
 
I’ve said it before, I’m really pulling for Lilly. A guy that could have gone second overall has to have some star talent deep within. Dude seems just solid.

Yep. I sure hope they're serious about giving this a proper twirl.
 
Nah with Mrazek back we no longer have a free roster spot. Amadio had to be waived. Only one extra skater now (Holl).
 
I didn't mind theses pairings..

Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Liljegren
Sandin - Dermott

..but the new pairings look interesting, especially Muzz/Brodie.

I think you’ve got to let Lilly walk before you ask him to run.

In other words, have him get consistent games and ice-time on the third pairing and excel in that role before you move him up to our second pair/shut-down unit.
