The Fucking Season Thread - Redemption Tour '22

Kucherov has been playing us dirty too - likely in hopes of drawing penalties. Would love to see someone drive him through the boards, much like Marchand.

If they do, it'll be an even series that probably goes 7 games and maybe we win with home ice and Matty in beast mode.

If they don't, we should win.

Either way, fuck them.

You are going to have to beat at least one great team to win the cup anyway. For the Atlantic teams that just happens to be in the first 2 rounds.

The first year Tampa won, they had to beat Boston in round 2, then it was Islanders/Stars. Last year it was Panthers/Carolina, then Islanders/Habs. Both years they had much more difficult early rounds than later rounds.

I don't think Tampa wants to play us in round 1 either.

Bourne going full potatoe again. Saying this while the Canes have to start the guy selling hotdogs for game 1

Didn’t Raanta return in Carolina’s last game?

And while I’m not one to defend Bourne, I’m not sure how potato-ey this take is. If you’re the Bruins, why wouldn’t you prefer playing the team lower in the standings who you have a track record of fairly recent playoff success against?

Sounds pretty brutal for them either way, though getting out of the Atlantic bracket would be nice.

For us, the Bruins lead the league in xGF%, but Tampa has much better goaltending and shooting talent. So who knows.

Both the Leafs and Canes have crushed the Bruins in all matchups this year. Right next to each other in the standings. The proper answer is pick'em for the Bruins for round 1, but avoiding FLA in round 2 would be even more ideal so they should want to lose.

Yeah I've got no issues with it. I think the Leafs are better than the Canes but the Canes have absolutely eaten the Bruins lunch all season long. I think Boston can't handle their speed and tenacity, especially in the neutral zone.

The Canes have beaten them a combined 16-1 this year.

16-1.

Think it's probably fair. We're their Ottawa until we slay that dragon.

I did hear Bourne do this whole lead up about the importance of physicality in the playoffs then asked his guest "so Boosh or Liljegren" so I see he's doubling down on his Lil stuff.

of course it will be interesting to hear the excuses if both TB and BOS ice lineups which show they don't mind losing tonight even a little bit, and might even prefer it.

I'm still not sure what happened but it seemed like as soon as the deadline passed the team got right back to business. it was getting pretty iffy there in the middle.

I thought he was still out. Oversight on my part.
