I’m not really sold that it’s a good idea to keep spending prime assets on deadline rentals every year.

If we do go that route though, I’d definitely be more supportive of paying big to rent a top-6 forward rather than paying just a bit less for a broken-down bottom-6er.

And Giroux definitely fits the bill as a top-6 forward. But he’d be pricy, and you’d probably need to do double retention to get his cap hit down enough.
