The Goddamn #TitleRun Thread

I don’t buy it. Pro-athletes, especially elite ones, aren’t like that. They always play the best they can.

Yeah it's a bit scary realizing that the Bolts problem with analytics this year has come from their top forwards only. Their bottom forwards have been kinda excellent. If the top guys were just lollygagging then they're every reason to think they can get back up to super elite again.

Palat - Point - Kucherov 50.7xgf%, 44.3gf%
Killorn - Cirelli - Stamkos 55.2xgf%, 71.8gf%
Maroon-Bellemare-Perry 57.5xgf%, 73.4gf%
Katchouk - Colton - Raddysh 56.3xgf%, 65.5gf%

Their four most used lines this year - though to be fair they mixed and matched a ton so only that bottom 6 Old Man Line was actually close to a permanent large sample line.

The lines they've used generally recently:

Palat - Stamkos - Kucherov 55.5xgf%, 63.9gf%
Paul - Point - Colton 36.2xgf%, 100.0gf% (tiny sample 26min)
Killorn - Cirelli - Hagel 55.4xgf%, 38.6gf%

Plus the old man line.

Yeah Axl seems to be right the more I look at the all the combos - Point has been the major problem this year. Pretty much every line he's been on has been bad. In fact I'm not sure that playing with Colton and Paul is even a 2nd line.

Once again, anyone have the least expensive route from Toronto area to Tampa for flights? I assume we play Friday and Sunday in Tampa.
looks like Buffalo > Tampa is the best option, leaving on Friday. Could also do Buffalo > Orlando leaving on Thursday but that's some extra work. Use Google Flights on incognito mode.

No, no he does not.

The only analytic based argument for tampa being better than us is tampa just not giving a fuck about the regular season and magically flipping switches and shit on Monday.

Which is entirely possible, but it has little to do with their actual performance in the regular season.

be cool to see regular season us for this year vs last year playoffs for Tampa (for those that played in them). See how real this jump could be if they do have a switch to turn things on

Weren't you literally just arguing the opposite in the Around The League thread? You were saying they turn it off when the games don't matter. Maybe for TBay most of the regular season didn't matter. They're just focused on another Cup.

I think the two player we have to worry about their ‘elite’ switch being on or off are Vasi and Jack.

IN/OUT from last year's playoffs....

They are very similar teams. But the lightning are getting old.

it comes down to:
(1)Matthews/Marner/Willy/JT/Rielly
out scoring Stamkos/Kuch/Point/Hedman. We have an advantage in depth and quality there IMO; and
(2) Jack hanging with Vasy.

gotta admit I feel very confident about this team.
