The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Round 2, Game 2 - Habs vs Bruins

Bruins are not TB , they will play tighter at Bell Centre and wait for counter attack ! it won't be easy score on them at home . I just hope giving up this lead won't come and bite us at the end !can be a turning point in this series , well hope not...

You just can't keep sitting back the way the Habs do. The whole game plan is sit and wait on a counter opportunity instead of create your own chances. I've seen players peel off and exit the offensive zone just because a puck goes in a corner. You'd think they were line changing but nope, they peel off and wait in the neutral zone. It is the most ridiculous thing I've seen and the fact that they do it so much means it's being taught that way. Enough of this not listening crap.

The Habs simply do not press and cycle enough. Their D has been neutered as they don't pinch unless behind when they are obviously activated. I'm still waiting for a coach that will bring an offensive system to the Habs. Watch the Hawks, watch the Bruins, it's constant attack mode. The Hawks were up 5-1 in the final game of the first round and they were still attacking and attacking hard.

The Habs pussyfoot system is just hard to watch.

Two on the puck, pressure the D. Use your speed. Make them have to decide quickly what to do with the puck. The turnovers will be a dime a dozen.

If the Habs can't bounce back after today's loss they don't deserve to move on.

There's going to be heartbreaking losses in the playoffs for even the cup champs whoever they are going to be.

You gotta move on quickly

does this team has enough character ? lets see !

Back to Max ! what is wrong with him? is he injured or scared ? and wonder when 27 will be back ?
for next game i would sit Prust and insert Moen instead, probably white instead of Brière !and Tinordi/Murray for Bou !

outside of a few mins in the third the team hasnt need to press the issue

Obviously this sucks but results aside, I thought we played a good game. We kept pressuring even after we took a 3-1 lead which was good. Not sure what we could have done different on goals 2 and 3. Goal 4 sucked though, we looked shell shocked on the one. Time to rebound now.

Yes the pressure thing works. I've never understood changing a game plan during a game you are winning. Why change something when leading.

I know Price was great during 2 periods and without him we couldn't win game one but he could do better probably in of 3 goals scored against him in 3th , specially Bergeron one !.

He wasn't great on the 4th goal, the other 3 I don't think he could've stopped... it's real tough stopping deflections (2 today off Bou), most goalies don't, unless the puck hits 'em.

Agreed. Drives me absolutely nuts. The backing off into a defensive posture does not increase your chances of winning. It's just like the prevent defense in football.

We have the speed to play an aggressive two man forecheck instead of the crap we're seeing.
