The ****ing Season thread, 2015/16 Edition

Sure hope Willy is suffering from mono, 'cause if he's healthy, this is a worrisome performance for this series. Better not be how he responds to close checking, physical hockey.
There's plenty of reason to be very happy with his season, but this series against an older, more experienced and physical team has shown that Willie's still got a lot to work on. The older, more experienced prospects like Hyman and Brown have looked that much more prepared for the grind of this series.

Hopefully that'll be inspiration to have, as Babcock says, "an NHL summer". Ideally, that summer won't start tonight.

Most of the Marlies' shots are from the perimeter, and Wedgewood can take those shots all night long.

Guys need to learn to fight in the slot and get inside. Right now they are simply cheating, firing from the outside. This is making life so easy for the Devils.

That's pretty much what I said a couple of days ago. There is more than enough evidence to establish this claim, despite what the homers say. I'm just going to tune them out from now on, because they are extremely predictable in their denials.

You said he has a tendency to float and has a poor work ethic.

None of which has been established with any kind of fact. Carry on.

He's actually playing like a guy who had a recent concussion ... timidly. This is not overly surprising, given what those thugs did to Johnson et al.

A lot of teams, including the Sens and Habs, don't have a single prospect as good as Nylander, Marner, and Matthews, so I'm fully expecting non-Leaf fans to come up with reasons to discount all three. Marner small, Nylander floater... sure they'll come up with something for Matthews soon enough.

I have nothing bad to say about Matthews and Marner, just the small Swede. Unlike Nylander, both of those guys can spell I-N-T-E-N-S-E.

Actually I did. I said that Nylander fades when the intensity ratchets up.

Except late in the 3rd period where he almost buried the winner, then controlled the puck on the end boards to set up Kappy with all the time in the world to find Carrick.

I mean, when the kid played his best 10 minutes of the game in the last 10 minutes of a tied 3-3 game 7, that kind of blows up this whole theory of yours, doesn't it?
