The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

Thats the one glimmer of Treliving hope I have

Calgary's ownership group is way more meddlesome, and way more impatient than MLSE. Throw into that mix the problems inherent to attracting players to Calgary and its GMing on hard mode. Toronto is way easier as long as you can manage the media noise

Fuck this is all too funny….one guy doesn’t think it’s fair to judge Treliving on his actual moves, and another wants to remove any credit from Dubas, for his hand picked coaching hire, 😆

isn't it funnier that you're mocking Trelving's track record for being similar if not better than your boy Dubas, given what each inherited? And that you're shitting on the coach who's hiring actually did make an instant and notable impact?

So Lindholm is a guy I'd love to pry out of Calgary. He's got one year left at $4.9 and is really good.

I'd also love Andersson but they won't move him.

Now that I think of it, I'd be tempted to try and make Weegar work though that contract is sticky.

there were two. though the 2nd one started SO badly they needed Keefe to save it.

right so one…and then Keefe was hire 15-30 games in, and immediately demonstrated the team Dubas had build was awesome, and Babcock was clearly the issue.

in maybe one of the most obvious instances in Leafs history.

This seems like a really solid idea.

I heard Ljndholm gets moved if no X tension

By all accounts this is a very active GM that is typically part of every conversation that GMs are having even if he barely has any interest. The rumor guys must be jizzing. There will be tons of "Treliving has asked about player X" rumors I think. Will be interesting to see if more gets out on them with him in charge... Would be hard not to if he's as active as they say.

Huberdeau (30, $10.5 x8 to 37) --- Lindholm (29, $4.9 x1 to 29) --- Toffoli (31, $4.3 x1 to 31)
Mangiapane (27, $5.8 x 2 to 28) --- Kadri (33, $7.0 x6 to 38) --- Coleman (32, $4.9 x4 to 35)
Dube (25, $2.3 x 1 to 25) --- Backlund (34, 5.4 x1 to 34) --- Coronato (21, ELC x2 to 22)

Hanifin (26, $5.0 x1 to 26) --- Andersson (27, $4.6 x3 to 29)
Weegar (29, $6.3 x8 to 35) --- Tanev (34, $4.5 x1 to 34)
Zadorov (28, $3.8 x1 to 28) --- Kylington* (26, $2.5 x1 to 26)

Markstrom (33, $6.0 x3 to 35)
Vladar (26, $2.2 x2 to 27)

Some ugly stuff there but a bunch of interesting possibilities too.

Treliving has 6-7 disaster contracts over his time, that individually would have fucked our franchise for a long time.. And now we’re handing him the check book to make signings in a month.

And that you're shitting on the coach who's hiring actually did make an instant and notable impact?

…wait, so now you’re stanning for Babcock?

except, again, that there was no improvement from Lou + Babcock to Dubas + Babcock. In fact, they probably went backwards.
