The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

If there was ever a way to lose all faith in Tree and this management.. That would certainly be it!

Thankfully I'm willing to bet my life on it never happening.

Assuming he doesnt like Brodie anymore, which is a big assumption. Doesnt he have legit trade value on that deal? Why buy him out?

Frank Seravelli has less grey cells than grey hair, which is weird cause he's in his mid 30's

It’s not impossible Treliving might not love Brodie, considering he decided to sign Chris Tanev and let Brodie walk when he was running the Flames.

As dumb as that’d be though, a buyout would be sheer insanity.

Brodie was surprisingly pretty different in Calgary. Heavily mistake-prone, rover type of aggressive D. Pretty stunning to see his transition to boring stay at home d in Toronto, but maybe that's just what the coaches asked of him. Maybe Tree prefers this version.

Brodie’s salary is actually 7.5M this year. Someone at Rogers may be hankering for a bonus.

It's a complete pile of crap.

Based on his own opinion, but if those are the conclusions he draws, then perma-block the blockhead.

Guess we need to wait for the draft for anything exciting to happen.... sure aint going to happen listening to "buyout brodie" takes.

Brodie was everything we needed when we got him. He’s slowed down a bit but is still good. He’s on his last year of his contract so I wouldn’t be opposed to moving him and using that 5 mil to get someone longer term.

I guess that’s the move I could see Treliving making on the defense to put some kind of stamp on the team.

There's zero reason to move a guy as effective as Brodie in the last year of his deal. You use a guy like this, not lose him.

This is close to dump Tavares level crazy shit.
