The Motherfucking 2021 Season Thread

Hopped into the car this afternoon in time to hear Fred referred to as "part of the team's core".

I still worry him coming back + his reputation will cause them to have a shorter leash on Campbell than he's earned.

That answer screams "I'm definitely worried".

If he truly feels that way - a simple "no" would have said it all. That he needed to pump his tires tells me that not playing well/injured has him worried about next year.

First goalie with a .904sv% in the playoffs to win the conn smythe...

If it was only Toronto media voters, I wouldn't put it past them.

Smelling burnt toast sitting in the hot sun after accidentally sitting on zeke’s penis after eating the shit lunch thst Preston made while being forced to listen leafnation’s racist thoughts over and over that is narrated by Babcock and Hughson and the TV is stuck on listening to overdrive talk about the need to sign fred long term > Fred

Chuckie redux (from the athletic)

Tavares sees his expected goals go down with Galchenyuk, and if we're asking whether we would trade .4 expected goals against for 1.4 expected for with Matthews...well, where the fuck do I sign up?

We can look at the scoring chance numbers as well and the question is the same and a pretty easy one. Would you trade 15.7 scoring chances per 60 with Auston Matthews & Mitch Marner on the ice, for 9.6 per 60 against. The answer is yes, yes fucking please.

I'm going to ignore the goal numbers largely because we've been a mediocre shooting skill team over the last month and a received .899 goaltending.

Yeah, I'm a little confused by how Siegel's interpreting those numbers. What they mostly seem to be saying is that Galchenyuk's a better fit with Matthews/Marner than he is with Tavares/Nylander.

Which is fine. Put Gally on the first line, and then you have the luxury of putting one of Hyman or Foligno on the third line.

the numbers are solid
this is where the eye test (ie Chuckie stops skating the other night on a back check) can have emotional resonance that can test the faith of even the most ardent nerd.

Will Keefe soon bench Chuckie like all previous coaches have done...stay tuned!
