Imagine being a kid absolutely bit by the hockey bug. Love it. Hang out at the rink so much you have every team's jersey at the local rink just in case they need an extra body. But you live in the fucking desert, nobody fucking cares. You're a stud, completely and utterly, one of the best in the world in your age group but nobody in your school really cares because they're too busy fawning over some fuckwit on the football or basketball team that won't even crack a real D1 program in a few years.

Imagine being that guy and then having your only pro experience being that guy, in Toronto. No wonder he loves it. He played his entire minor career completely invisible.

Yeah I don't get how anyone can think he's cocky. He'd be last on the list for that. Grapes is a big Freddy fan and went on about him deserving the Vezina every year.
