I don't think Simmonds or Thornton have looked great lately but I also have a feeling they're going they're more than capable of scoring a big goal or two here or there in a playoff run. I just hope they're used appropriately.

That's just it. I don't ever want to see Simmonds on our 1st PP unit again, he's completely miscast there. On the 2nd unit? I don't care, they should see 15-20%% of our PP time, tops. At 5's, he's a more than capable bottom 6 guy, preferably a 4th liner but can handle 3rd line duty when injuries pop up.

He's on the right side of the ledger of basically every shot measurement statistic. Vesey and Boyd were both worse than him in all of those measures and by a lot.

If he was terrible, his shot impact numbers would be underwater. Like all of the actually bad hockey players that we have shed over the season (Vesey, Boyd).

Have you seen this guy's career highlight reel? It's him tipping and chunking in 20+ goals a year from 5 feet in front of the net.

Usually it’s tougher to consistently score by accident than on purpose. So I’d rather Hyman use some actual skill to put them in rather than Simmonds hoping to get a deflection off his chin.
