yes, that's what happened in this thread...

Well I know where Uranus is.
we are so much richer for having your always accurate predictions.
now if only we could have a pageau comparison from the Isles' dynasty, we would be complete.
beating out stefan da costa and derek grant is quite the accomplishment, for sure.
If I had to guess a top end for pageau, I'd say 20 goals, 50-55 pts in a 2-way role with significant PK time and key faceoff time.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau
AHL 69GP 7G 22A 29PTS (82GP 8G 26A 34 PTS)
NHL 9 GP 2G 2A 4PTS (82 GP 18G 18A 36 PTS)
Advanced Stats:
TOI/60 10:38 REL Corsi 9.3 ZoneStart Offensive: 50.0 ZoneStart Offensive Finish: 58.2
4 v 5 TOI/60 SH:.83 REL Corsi 6.8 On-Ice SV% .857
His 6.8 RelCorsi shorthanded was miles behind Alfredsson (departed, 24.9) Silfverberg (departed, 16.5) and even the never-paying Regin (departed, 7.0)
His 9.3 RelCorsi at 5 v 5 was one of the higher ones on the team, but he only played nine games. You'd probably need to have a 50+ games played sample size. His playing 10 minutes a game likely pegs him at third-line minutes, and having 50-55 points on the third line? If the Senators have that then those comparisons to the Dynasty Islanders might not be far off.
Oh, he took 82 faceoffs (15th among rookies) and won 40, lost 42. Hilariously, that's much worse than pint-sized perma-AHLer DaCosta, who won 60% of his faceoffs in the same amount of games, taking 65 and winning 39 losing 25.
Of course, I'm sure you'l refute this with your usual:
"I DUN KERR FOR TOSE FENSI STATS MAH EYEBALLS TELL MUH HE'S ELEET. THAT CLOUD IS SCREAMNG AT ME!"
Pageau Pageau Pageaaaaaaaau! was ranked 10th in Senators forwards in PK time.
The on-ice save percentage shorthanded while he is on the ice is a terrible .857
While he is noted as winning 48% of his draws, he only played nine games last year.
But hey,
You know what I love most about the endless "my team is better than yours" debates between Sens and Leafs fans here?
At the end of the day, when the playoffs arrive, the Sens always drop the ball in the playoffs.
Who cares how many Norris and Calder candidates the Sens have. They can't ever get it done. The entire discussion is moot.
Do you have a point to make here or you just looking to bust out your silly 'advanced' stats because you think they mean something? I'm surprised that you even acknowledged that a 9 game sample size is pretty much statistically worthless. Although you bring it up after one of the silly stats don't work out in your favour.

As evidenced by zero cups.
Hence "always drop the ball".
