The New Division

The leafs would have to be a sub-500 team the rest of the way to even have a chance of missing the playoffs.

They would have to be passed by six different teams to miss the playoffs.

The leafs ar 6-2-2 in their last 10 (115pt pace).

The leafs are 13-4-3 in their last 20 (119pt pace).

The leafs are 17-8-5 in their last 30 (107pt pace).

The leafs are 34-23-8 on the season (96pt pace).

The leafs are 60-40-13 over the last 2 seasons (97pt pace).

The leafs would suddenly have to turn into an 80pt pace team over the last 17gms to miss, and even then that might not be bad enough to miss.

And the sked isn't particularly tough either:

STL 1
ANA 1
PIT 0
CHI 0
BOS 1

SJS 1
COL 0
LAK 1
MIN 0
TOR 0

MTL 1
TBL 2
PHI 1
DET 2
NYR 0

DAL 0
CBJ 0
WSH 1
PHX 1
NJD 1

OTT 1
VAN 0
WPG 0
CAR 0
NSH 0

CAL 1
NYI 0
FLA 1
EDM 0
BUF 0

5 vs. Top 10
9 vs. Mid 10
3 vs. Bot 10

Ouch.

Pretty sure the Habs and Leafs are in. It's obviously possible... but unlikely that either misses.

I'm so happy that we're finished with that California (+Phoenix) trip. It's a rough one.

This.

It's not a lock because math but when you look at the records both teams would take to blow it, it's probably not happening.

Reading these posts of only three weeks ago really puts what has happened into perspective.

I don't see how anyone could have seen O-fer for two weeks.

In this league - where even the Sabres don't go 8 games without a point - it seemed almost impossible. But the Leafs found a way!

Nice to see someone be objective.

The Sens were ravaged by injury last year and still ended up with the best result between our three teams.

If you look at the stats player posted the Sens are near the top in everything but "goals for". Add Karlsson, Spezza and Ryan and that will look a whole lot different.

The division winner will be one of Detroit, Ottawa or Boston, but the Sens should be the favorite.

The Leafs and Habs will be fighting for the wild cards.

Objectivity.

The Sens were barely a bubble team getting .941 goaltending last year.

They are an afterthought at this point.

Time has proven you correct.

What an idiotic post.

Methot and Cowen will be excellent in the shutdown roles.

Can't type much, still laughing so hard my ribs hurt.

I see the Sens doing well, maybe even well enough to get their own forum.

Nice.

Our defence is substantially better than yours. It's not close, really.

Full Bolduke

Leafs and Sens should be the two heavyweights, Habs and Wings in the next tier.

But only if Price can stop a puck. If not, they're going to draft high.

I really hope your job doesn't entail projections of any sort.

My interest in this team will be slim to none if there are no changes made to the management and/or coaching staff. You can add and subtract players, but absolutely no way you should give the coaching a complete pass after so many things that have gone awry with this team.

And Methot >>>>
